Abramovich gives green light to Ancelotti to sign Rooney
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has allowed Carlos Ancelotti to negotiate United star Wayne Rooney.
Abramovich promised Ancelotti that if the deal is done, he will surely provide funds for this deal.
Manchester United derby side Manchester City is also leading the queue to sign Rooney while Sir Alex Ferguson is trying to avoid both of his rivals and trying to direct this transfer towards Real Madrid.
Roman Abramovich is ready to offer £250,000-a-week package to the England striker while he can also pay £20million for the player to Manchester United.
Last night Ancelotti refused to talk about this issue and said “I don’t like it when some coaches speak about my players and I don’t want to do the same for players of other teams. I have respect for United and I have respect for Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s their problem.”
Spanish side Real Madrid could offer less money to United but can exchange with Karim Benzema or Gonzalo Higuain.
Real boss Jose Mourinho, asked in the summer which player he would most like to coach, said: “It’s an impossible dream. Wayne Rooney – as much for his brilliant mentality as for his football talent.”
