Alex McLeish stoped chasing Camoranesi

Alex Mcleish remained a strrong admirer of Juventus winger Camoranesi in summer transfer period. Camoranesi remained in the World Cup squad of italy and performed well in it. He travelled to England to discuss a move to St Andrew’s but returned to Italy without undertaking a medical and without reaching an agreement.

McLeish said: “I have always been a big admirer but negotiations became protracted and I had a further think. I decided it was not quite the way forward for Birmingham at this particular time.”

After rejection of juventus winger Birmingham showed their interest in Liverpool left wenger Ryan Babel. But the negotiations seems to be going nowhere till now.

Birmingham were also interested in AZ Alkmaar star Dembele but he has chosen to pursue a move to an alternative club, believed to be Premier League rivals West Ham.

McLeish said: “Dembele has got other options and he is choosing another option. His representative had told me that. It is a blow because we have worked hard on that one – but that’s life.”
