Andriy Shevchenko becks goalless Torres
Chelsea former striker Andriy Shevchenko has backed out-of-form Fernando Torres as £50 million signing yet to score for his new club.
Shevchenko insists that Fernando Torres has quality to improve himself but all he need is time to settle in a new environment.
‘Chelsea play different football to Liverpool and he needs the time to adapt. Everybody expects so much because the price of the transfer is very high and everybody will put a lot of pressure on him.
‘But he just needs to relax, he’s a big name and a big player and the goals are coming,” he continued. “He will need time, which is normal, and maybe he shouldn’t think about the goals.
‘I don’t think he needs to feel the pressure, just learn the movement of his side, of his defenders and his midfielders. It’s more important that he feels good.
‘If he feels good physically, he will score a lot of goals for Chelsea.’
