Andy Carroll fined £1,000 after pleading guilty
Newcastle striker Andy Carroll was fined £1,000 after admitting assaulting a man in a nightclub.
The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to common assault and was ordered to pay additional £2,500 compensation at Newcastle Crown Court.
Newcastle midfielder has already offered his support to his team-mate while Newcastle boss Chris Hughton is taking side of his lads and admiring them.
Hughton said “Joey at the moment is playing very well. He’s very consistent and he’s a big player for the team,” he said. “And it’s a wonderful start for Andy. We asked that of him last season to add goals to his game, but he has to have that type of service. If he does, it makes life a little bit easier for us.”
“He’s a mobile lad. He’s a tall lad, so for his size it’s always going to be difficult to be the quickest, but once he gets going, certainly he has a power and a pace. I thought that was his best game since the first game against Manchester United. He’s a handful. We need that from him as regularly as we can.”
